About the artist:
Plastic artist and designer Roberto Romero creates sculptures seemingly lighter than air, using his suspension technique. His works are inspired by Brazilian plants and animals and the shape and colours they share. Through his encounters, his pieces go through three stages alchemy, until the final floating artefacts emerge in their geometric form. His sculptures transgress design, architecture and art, and expand our experience of these aesthetic practices. Having resided in Rio de Janeiro for half a decade, with a workshop at Fábrica Bhering, Roberto Romero originally from Buenos Aires has lived in Lebanon, France, Switzerland, and Colombia, it is in this immersion in diverse cultures, that his craft transforms across and beyond local contexts.
